Day 10

August 17, 2024

Interesting day. We got up around 8AM and had a little breakfast. The males and females of the four of us then split up, with the males going to Whampus Used Books and the females going to Benson Sculpture Garden.

I enjoyed walking around the bookstore and picked out four books, which are included in the photo below. The sculpture garden apparently is “wonderful” and Susan and I will be stopping there to walk around and take photos on Monday morning on our way out of town. Seems an ideal way to wait out the bulk of Denver’s rush hour.

After lunch we were planning to go to a llama farm to “pet some llamas”, but when I researched the place on Google, it turned out that it is just a llama outfitting/breeding/etc. farm and we would not have been able to pet anything. Additionally, they had no gift shop and only one review so I decided it was not for us. Instead, we went to Old Firehouse Books, where I bought a few more books which are also in the photograph below.

If you are curious, I check out EVERYTHING on Google before traveling somewhere … ask Susan. One of my good qualities (or faults), depending on how you look at it.

Having used up our daily quota of bookstores, the four of us went to Blue Agave Grill in Fort Collins, CO and had a wonderful meal. Fort Collins is a college town and it was as busy as you would think on a Saturday night in the downtown walking/shopping area. The restaurant was packed and noisy, but the food and wonderful service we received compensated nicely for the boisterous atmosphere.

Sunday we are planning to go for a ride through parts of Rocky Mountain National Park.

Thanks for reading.

Kevin
