Day 6

August 13, 2024

Today was a “family” day. Went to breakfast again with Susan’s Uncle, then went to the farm with him and visited for a few hours. During the visit we toured some outbuildings to see his automobile collection. Many restored cars, from back when a car was to be kept care of and treasured for many years, not traded in every few years for a newer model. Had leftovers for dinner back where we are staying, and I set up my new computer, on which I am creating this post.

BUT…

Let’s talk about the weather!

I noticed on my phone around midnight a large blog of weather, with the colors red and maroon and pink featured prominently in the radar image. The blob was located in the middle of the country, headed right towards us. We never got a tornado warning, but we had thunderstorms for a few hours. I took the above images on my phone at 1AM and 4AM, showing the track of the morphing blob.

So, while the storm was technically part of today (day 7), I have included it here since it happened before day seven started when I got up.

Anyway, that’s all I got. We may visit the Stuhr Museum today, in which case there will be photos tomorrow.

Thanks for reading.

Kevin
